Insects damaging your packaged food?

We help food producers and packaging converters prevent infestation with protection built into the pack.

Discuss your infestation problem

PAPER PACKETS

Maize meal & flour

Additive blended into the overprint varnish at printing. This is the route in commercial use in Kenya for 1 kg and 2 kg flour and meal packets.

FLEXIBLE PACKAGING

Rice & dry staples

Pouches and form-fill bags are protected through the laminating adhesive or the film itself, with no change to filling or sealing. Trialled successfully by a large Kenyan retailer for jumbo oats.

FLEXIBLE PACKAGING

Pasta

Discuss the film or laminate structure used for your pasta pack. The treatment route is selected for that construction and assessed on your product.

PREPARE FOR REVIEW

Bring the specification, not just the bag.

A physical sample helps. A clear specification gets you to a trial faster.

  • Food product, pack size and current shelf life.
  • Material grades and complete layer structure.
  • Converter, printing or lamination process and sealing method.
  • Storage, distribution and target market.
  • Infestation history and what you want the trial to show.

WHO WE WORK WITH

A shared packaging decision.

Food producers & brands

You own the product, the brand and the infestation problem. You specify ProvisionGard; the treated pack comes from your existing converter at the same specification.

Packaging converters

You add the additive on your existing line. We supply the product, the dosing instructions and on-site training, with technical support from Adpack and the technology owner.

Institutions & programmes

Governments, development partners and food-security programmes can review ProvisionGard through the TAAT e-catalogues and work with us on trials and evidence for the intended programme.
